TR Group’s New Terminal Tractors Get to Work on North East Link

TR Group Australia’s new rental terminal tractors are already supporting one of Australia’s biggest infrastructure projects, with First Transport hiring four units and six flat top trailers for Melbourne’s North East Link tunnel project.

Moving smoke duct components above and below ground, the terminal tractors, also known as yard tugs were fitted to meet the project’s site-specific safety requirements. They are already proving their value, with several potentially staying on beyond the initial six to eight week hire.

Founded by a husband and wife team and built from the ground up, First Transport supports major infrastructure projects across Australia. TR Group is pleased to support the business with equipment suited to the demands of this project.

The new Terminal Tractors expand TR Group’s rental fleet, offering a practical solution for moving heavy trailers around busy yards, depots and terminals safely and efficiently.

With an 85-tonne gross combination weight rating for B-doubles and a 34-tonne lift capacity, the units are equipped for demanding operations. Features include fifth wheel and Ringfeder couplings, cameras, UHF radio, rear cab access and a comprehensive safety package.
